Three Exercises that Help Lose Belly Fat

The only way to a flat belly is through a lean body. Spot reducing, especially in abs, is counterproductive, and it does not really work. The strengthened abdominals push outward, and the fat remains, causing you to appear even bigger. The way to a lean body, and a flat belly, is through cardiovascular exercises. Cardio sessions should last between 20-60 minutes, 4-5 times a week, and be combined with healthy eating. Here are three cardio workouts that could help you lose belly fat:

Bicycling Biking can be a very efficient workout because the bike takes much of the impact. Sessions must be longer, though, than some cardio workouts because long periods of coasting release some of the intensity. Make sure to pick a good bike.

Swimming Much swimming is anaerobic, and will not create results. Good swimmers, however, find swimming a great cardio exercise. Water creates buoyancy absorbing much impact, and creates necessary resistance. Water aerobics and water walking can also help those with injuries or high levels of body fat.

Walking has many psychological and social benefits. But a leisurely stroll will not create results. As with other cardio exercise, for walking to be effective, your heart rate should be elevated. To achieve this, most people need to walk at a brisk pace.
