Why Fast Food Increases Belly Fat

Why Fast Food Increases Belly Fat

It is so easy and convenient in our hectic lifestyles today to just drive through and get some fast food for our breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Unfortunately, that same fast food tends to stick just where you do not want it to: your belly. Most fast food is loaded with calories, fat, saturated fat, sugar, and salt. While our bodies do require moderate amounts of calories, fats, sugar and sodium, they really do not need the high amounts that are found in most fast foods.

In addition to the unwanted amounts of fat and calories, the portions are bigger than they need to be, thus encouraging overeating, and we all know where that leads: it is a pretty straightforward road to, wait for it, obesity.

Many restaurants use high amounts of oils and butter when preparing the food. You also do not often get an option of fresh fruit or vegetables. When you combine all of these elements you create an unbalanced nutritional environment in your body, which often lead to belly fat, lots of it.

So next time you decide to get that hamburger and fries, fried fish or chicken sandwich, pizza, or other fast foods, ask yourself this question: Do I enjoy having belly fat as much as I like to eat that hotdog?
